Collette's design process changes all the time. She doesn't have a process that she follows continuously she just needs inspiration. Collette stated in an interview with Vogue that she didn't have a process. An inspiration to her would be finding old vintage lace found in a french market to a sterling silver belt buckle found in a design studio or in a shop. After becoming inspired she would go draw and design what she thought would make a beautiful piece of clothing.
Collette mainly designs dresses not so much pants, tops or blouses. She would use many colours to see what would look nice and what doesn't look so good, but she mainly used blue, purple and white (cold colours) to sketch.

She uses many shades, techniques and lots of detail to make it look clear so she knows what she wants to design. After this she would see what it looks like on a model or a person. The she would add it to one of her collections.
